Key terms used throughout this site, explained in the context of Big Bass Bonanza.
The percentage of wagered money a slot returns over millions of spins. Big Bass Bonanza's theoretical RTP is 96.71%, meaning the game keeps 3.29% as house edge long-term.
Measures how wins are distributed. High volatility (5/5) means fewer but larger wins. Big Bass Bonanza concentrates most of its return in the free spins bonus.
The golden fish symbol labeled 'SCATTER'. Landing 3+ on any reels triggers free spins. Scatters do not need to be on a payline.
The Fisherman symbol. Only appears during free spins. Substitutes for all symbols except Scatter and collects all Money Fish values on screen.
A factor applied to Money Fish values during collection. Starts at ×1, increases to ×2, ×3, and ×10 with each retrigger.
A bonus round triggered by Scatter symbols. The player does not pay per spin. In BBB, free spins are the only way to activate the Fisherman Wild collection mechanic.
A feature that lets players pay a fixed price (usually 100× stake) to enter free spins immediately. NOT available in the original Big Bass Bonanza.
A 25% bet increase that doubles the chance of triggering free spins. NOT available in the original Big Bass Bonanza.
The percentage of spins that result in any win. Big Bass Bonanza's hit rate is approximately 12.6% — roughly 1 winning spin in 8.
Fixed lines across the reels where matching symbols create wins. Big Bass Bonanza has 10 fixed paylines, active on every spin.
The reel layout. Big Bass Bonanza uses a 5×3 grid: 5 reels with 3 visible symbols each.
A mechanic where winning symbols disappear and new ones fall in. NOT present in Big Bass Bonanza, which uses standard spinning reels.
The highest possible payout per round. Big Bass Bonanza caps at 2,100× total bet. If reached, remaining spins are forfeited.
A risk game to double or lose your last win. NOT present in Big Bass Bonanza.
Automatic spinning for a set number of rounds. Available in Big Bass Bonanza with configurable loss limits and win limits.
Fish symbols that carry random cash values (2× to 2,000× bet). Values are displayed every spin but only collected during free spins by the Fisherman Wild.
Earning additional free spins during a bonus round. In BBB, every 4th Fisherman Wild collected awards +10 spins and increases the collection multiplier.
